"Maintenance shouldn’t be this frustrating"
I’ve been annoyed with how difficult the basic maintenance has been. Even the simple stuff ends up taking way longer than I expected, and trying to find clear info on the site was a hassle. My brother looked with me at one point and we both felt like it should be much easier for regular owners, not something that turns into a whole project every time.

I had mixed feelings about this one. It held up alright overall, but I did still notice some rust after a while. So it’s not terrible, but I wouldn’t say the corrosion resistance is anything amazing either.

The site was helpful in some ways, but figuring out whether the parts would actually fit my boat model took longer than I expected. Some of the compatibility info felt a bit unclear, and a few details seemed like they were missing. I got there eventually, but it wasn’t as straightforward as I’d hoped.

I had to reach out to my local Mercury dealer about an issue with my motor. To be fair, they did get it sorted in the end, but it took a few phone calls and way too much chasing on my part. I really felt like I was burning energy just trying to get basic updates.
The staff were friendly enough and seemed to know what they were doing, so I can’t say it was a bad experience. It just wasn’t very quick or smooth, and I walked away feeling like the whole thing used up more time and effort than it needed to...

"Finding parts was kind of a mess"
I just needed one basic replacement part, nothing fancy, and somehow it was out of stock pretty much everywhere I checked. The website wasn’t much help either, which was frustrating. I eventually figured it out, but it took way longer than it should have. Overall, not the end of the world, but also very inefficient and kind of annoying.

I tried getting help from tech support, but it felt like I was stuck waiting forever. What made it worse was that I couldn’t seem to reach an actual person, just automated replies and generic steps that didn’t really help. the whole thing was frustrating.

"Works now, but the install was a bit of a headache"
I ordered the parts through mercurymarine.com, and while everything eventually worked out, the install information wasn’t exactly as clear as it could’ve been. I spent more time than I should have trying to figure things out and ended up having to call around for help, which was fun. It’s working now, so I guess that’s the important part, but the whole process could definitely have been smoother.

The website is okay overall, like it looks clean enough and nothing about it feels totally broken, but using it was a little more frustrating than I expected. I was trying to find specific parts and some basic info, and it took me longer than it probably should have because I had to click around a bunch and guess which menu would actually take me where I needed to go. A few pages also loaded slower than I’m used to, not so slow that I gave up, but slow enough that I noticed it and started wondering if I clicked the wrong thing. It does work in the end, and I was able to find what I needed eventually, but I feel like it would be a lot easier if the menus were clearer and the important stuff was more obvious from the start.

It runs fine, so that’s good, but the motor is a lot louder than I was hoping for. I wasn’t expecting it to be this noisy, and it’s been a bit disappointing. I feel like an apology or some acknowledgment would be fair

I expected better from Mercury. When I reached out, support felt slow, and even after they finally got back to me, I still didn’t feel totally confident in the information they gave. Maybe I’m overthinking it, but it kind of made me question whether I can really trust them right now.

My warranty claim did get handled in the end, so I can’t really complain too much, but I kind of am because it felt slower than it needed to be. The dealer had to call a few times, and the updates weren’t exactly quick. At the same time, they did approve it, which is obviously the main thing. So I’d say it wasn’t a bad experience, just not the smoothest either

"Mercury parts felt overpriced for basic maintenance"
I was just trying to pick up a couple of basic Mercury maintenance parts on mercurymarine.com, nothing special or hard to find, and the prices caught me off guard. Reading between the lines, it kind of felt like you’re paying a premium just because it’s the official source.
I know boat parts are rarely cheap, and I wasn’t expecting bargain-bin pricing, but this still felt like too much for standard stuff. I ended up shopping around elsewhere because I just couldn’t make the price make sense...

"Should’ve trusted my gut"
I’ve gotten fed up with how often my Mercury needs something fixed. It feels like every few times I take it out, another issue pops up and I’m right back dealing with repairs. The costs add up fast, and the downtime is the most frustrating part. I just wanted a motor I could count on without constantly wondering what’s going to go wrong next. Looking back, I should’ve trusted my instinct earlier. I wouldn’t buy one again.

"Drinks fuel way too fast"
I bought this Mercury outboard thinking it would be at least halfway decent on gas. Silly me, I guess. It runs, sure, but it burns through fuel way faster than my old motor ever did, even when I’m not exactly flying across the water.
I’ve tried messing with the trim, taking less gear, putting in fresh filters, and doing all the little things people suggest. Somehow, none of that magically fixed it. I still feel like I’m planning every trip around where I can stop for more gas.
Maybe it works great for other people, and good for them. For me, the fuel use has been disappointing, especially considering what I paid. I really wish I’d spent the money on something else.

I had my Mercury serviced here and wish I hadn’t put it off for so long. They got it back to me faster than I expected, which was a nice surprise. There was a small delay getting a call back, but nothing major. Overall, happy with the turnaround

"Good first impression, and the manual mostly held up"
My first impression of mercurymarine.com was good. I went there to find the owner’s manual for my outboard, and it didn’t take much digging to get to the right one. The layout felt straightforward, and the diagrams lined up with what I was actually seeing on the motor.
A few sections could definitely be worded in a simpler way, though. Some of the maintenance instructions got a little technical, and I had to go back and reread them once or twice to make sure I understood what they meant.
Overall, it did what I needed it to do. I was able to handle the basic checks without feeling like I was guessing the whole time. It’s not perfect, but for most owners, I’d say it’s clear enough to be useful.

The engine keeps acting up on me, and at this point I just don’t really trust it anymore (which is frustrating). I’m never sure if it’s going to run smoothly or start having issues again.

"Warranty process was surprisingly painless"
Had a little issue pop up with my Mercury outboard and, you know, I was totally calm about it… definitely not already imagining a long warranty headache. But it went way better than I expected. The dealer looked it over, the coverage was honored, and I didn’t have to go back and forth arguing with anyone. It took a bit of time, but nothing too outrageous. Overall, happy with how they handled it
